Description
Postcard with a black and white photograph of the Prentiss Home Store on the front. Photograph depicts the building along with 4 people standing in front of the store. From left to right: Ella Neil, Lori Simpson, Mrs. Annie Soule Prentiss, and Frank Prentiss. On the front of the building "Mrs. A.J. Prentiss Home Store" is painted on a sign. At the bottom of the photograph "#2 Lawrence Kan. Prentiss, Home, Erected 1859" is printed in white ink. On the back of the postcard Charline Fitzpatrick has written that this is her favorite postcard and that she got school supplies from the store when she went to Quincy School. Note: From its establishment until around 1910 the store is listed at 1105 Massachusetts Street, but is listed at 907 Tennessee in the 1911 directory.
