Postcard with a black and white photograph of Union Pacific railroad tracks on the front. Photograph features a group of people standing on railroad tracks that is surrounded by high waters. At the bottom of the photograph is a white border with "Wash out on Union Pacific Near Lawrence, Kansas, 1908 Flood." printed in black ink at the top, below "H.W. Foster, Photo," is printed in black ink. A note is written on the back to Mr. Frank Hammer in Geneseo, Illinois from Mary in Lawrence, Kansas. Note discusses family matters. Postmarked July 25, 1908. Information on when and where the postcard was acquired is on the back, 5/28/2005 from KCPS.
